Questions, answered

Q.01Do I need my own An Post account?

Yes. EirLink connects to your own An Post eCommHub API key. That's a feature, not a limitation. You keep your negotiated rates, postage bills directly to your An Post account, and you can stop using EirLink any time without losing your carrier relationship.

Q.02How do I get an eCommHub API key?

Log in to your An Post eCommHub account and request API access, or ask your An Post account manager. Once you have the key, paste it into EirLink. We verify it against the live API instantly and store it encrypted.

Q.03Can I ship with DPD as well as An Post?

Yes. Connect the API credentials DPD issues for your account and all your carriers live in the same dashboard: choose per order, or let automation rules pick by weight and destination. DPD requires a short pre-production test phase before approving live shipping; pre-production shipments never email your customers.

Q.04Does EirLink mark orders as fulfilled in Shopify?

Yes. As soon as a label is created, the tracking number is pushed to Shopify, the order is marked fulfilled, and Shopify sends your customer their shipping-confirmation email with live tracking.

Q.05What if I sell outside Shopify?

Import a CSV (markets, Etsy exports, wholesale) or key orders in manually. They join the same queue, get the same labels and the same automatic tracking updates.

Q.06Is there a markup on postage?

Never. An Post bills postage directly to your own account at your own rates. EirLink does not resell labels, handle postage payments, or take a cut; it is the free software layer around your logistics workflow.

Q.07Is my data safe?

Your An Post API key and DPD credentials are encrypted at rest, all traffic runs over TLS, and your data is processed within the EU in line with GDPR. You can disconnect a store or delete your credentials at any moment.
